We have officially completed month one and our very first country, Cambodia! It’s been an eventful month and I have already learned a lot. I am ready to take on Thailand and change some things for these next few weeks.

I’ve been thinking to myself “how in the world am I going to remember which stories to tell when people ask about the race?!” So I’ve decided to recap this month of Cambodia in numerical order…but don’t worry I’m sure I’ll still have many more stories to tell!!

1,000 plates of rice

50 cups of coffee

42 houses

38 tuk tuk rides

17 girls with lice

9 hours in a hospital

6 squatty potties

5 times getting lost with no translator

3 salesmen telling us we needed “BIG BIG size”

3 teams coming and going, serving with us

2 chickens (dinner) decapitated in front of my eyes

2 cats in the kitchen

2 wooden boat rides

1 bed bug scare (thank God it was just ant bites!)

1 mystery meat

1 house dedication

1 demon possessed lady

1 new sister in the kingdom

1 piece of my heart left behind

Cambodia was amazing and I will truly miss my little “tarzan kids” from Kampong Cham, along with many others. Always in my prayers!
