Eucharisteo

“Eucharisteo, thanksgiving, envelopes the Greek word for grace, charis. But it also holds its derivative, the Greek word chara, meaning “joy.” Charis. Grace. Eucharisteo. Thanksgiving. Chara. Joy.”

The season of Thanksgiving is upon us.

A little more than a year ago I was looking for a good book to read, I couldn’t find just the right one. I was asking friends and family about good books that make your world shake a little. That is when the book “One Thousand Gifts” was suggested. In this book the author Ann speaks on finding blessings and thankfulness in everyday life. How to live a true life of thanksgiving.

I read this book through a couple of times, each time I found new ways to find joy in everyday circumstances. Not just the warm, bubbly circumstances, but also the raw nitty gritty hard life circumstances. Throughout the book Ann wrote things she was thankful for, and that’s when the change started. Some were big, and others were simple like the dew on grass on a spring morning.

To this day, this book as inspired me to count my blessings everyday… In the spirit of Thanksgiving here are 10 things I am thankful for this week!

 1. Family who bring out the best in me

2. The Most Amazing Friends

3. My bomb team, S/O to the Blaze Trailers

4. Everyone who has supported my next season

5. My sweet Animals, Tia and Toby

6. Changing Seasons

7. Mornings with my Bible, pen, and a hot cup of coffee

8. Changing of the leaves in Fall

9. Hot Chocolate by the Christmas Tree

10. Hallmark Christmas Movies

Yes, some of these things on this list you would not think are major important things to be thankful for, but isn’t that the point? The things we are thankful for, don’t have to be huge life altering things, but can be small things that bring joy to our hearts and minds. It is about finding thankfulness in everyday things, in everyday life!

I challenge you, to think of three things you are thankful for everyday next week, write them down, and then see if there has been change in your thinking of large and small things alike! Let’s find and choose thankfulness and joy!
