So as I sit here early morning monday at the airport awaiting my flight tonight at around 6pm…I thought I might go ahead and give a brief insight into camp. (That being said there will be a much longer blog later when I’m near my computer).

The plan is not to give you to many details for future racers but enough for you supporters to know what we went through…

You might have gone to the WR October 2016 Training Camp if….

1. Debrief, community, and vulnerability are now a part of your daily vocabulary.

2. You cheered when the Porta potty guy came to clean out the Porta potties.

3. You ate oatmeal in 38 degree (even though you don’t like it) just to warm up.

4. Sharing food no longer concerns you.

5. Your water bottle becomes your best friend.

6. So is your day pack, journal, and bible.

7. You get to the point when you can’t tell if its dirt or a tan.

8. Even your clean clothes smell dirty.

9. It is possible to wear the same outfit 4 days in a row and not think twice about it.

10. That first shower after camp, though short, felt amazing.

11. You will realize you have emotions you never thought were possible.

12. Personal space was no more if you wanted to stay warm at night.

13. Dirt is everywhere

You might have been on D-squad at T.C. if…

1. Orange was your fav color for the week and you made sure to bring a lot of it to camp.

2. You knew who your elephant or giraffe was and could quickly find them. (Side note…got to spend an extra night in Gainsville with mine…love ya Ashley)

3. Your squad prays for your brother’s healing even though they just met you and have and probably will never meet him.

4. You get use to each others smell.

5. A tent breaks on first day and one of your trainers loans his to you. (thanks Joshua)

6. You live, love, laugh, grieve, and get emotional with each other.

7. Your squad mate offers up his brothers home so you can have a place to stay before and after T.C. for a day even though they never met you before.

8. Make a memory for some teams involved bowling or getting new piercings…getting food or going to Walmart…no matter what though team photos were  involved…. (will be posted later)

9. Shared your chicken with the other non-dairy person only to be very Thankful when everyone else started talking about how spicy theirs was… (we love ya Russia).

10. Have so many memories of the last week that you can’t decide which ones to pick out…so your gonna stop this blog now.

Love ya’ll,  another detailed post to come later this week when I get near a computer.
