Hey everyone,

So recently I’ve had a lot of people asking where I’m at financially, what are my deadlines, and just generally where am I in the process of everything going on with the WR. So here it goes….I am currently at $410.00. While this is fantastic and I THANK YOU all who have donated on my behalf already I still am a long way’s from being fully funded.

Q&A Time?

What are your Financial Deadlines?

  • Sep. 25th- I need $3,500 in my AIM missions account
  • Dec. 18th- I need to have a total of $10,000 in my AIM missions account in order to launch with my Squad (Here after known as D-squad).
  • Feb. 29th- I need to have a total of $13,000 in my AIM missions account.
  • April 29th- I need to have the full amount of $16,562 in my AIM missions account.

So to sum that up, by September 25th (in 42 days from now) I will need $3,090 in my AIM account in order to go to training camp with D-squad in October.

Where are you at with getting gear and other necessities for the WR?

I currently have received my passport, begun to buy some of the smaller things for the WR, and received several of my shots (Yellow Fever, and Tetanus). I am scheduled to get my Typhoid shot on  Aug. 20th, at which time I will be scheduling my Japanese Encephalitis shots for September and October (2-Shot series must be taken within 30 days of each other).

I also have paid for my ticket to Training Camp (Explained below), but have not bought my ticket home from it yet.

My plan is to buy my big gear: backpack, tent, sleeping bag and pad, etc…in the next week or two.

What is Training Camp and what will you be doing?

Training camp is a mandatory 10 day camp that all World Racer’s must attend before launching on the WR. D-squad as well as about 3 other squads will be attending our Training Camp in Georgia in mid-October. As I said I’ve bought my ticket to camp, but not back home. As many blogs as I’ve read, and as many youtube videos as I’ve watched on it, I’m still not entirely sure what will happen. I know that they will be prepping us for life out on the mission field, the men will go on a 2-day man’s hike while the women learn more about women ministry…etc…after camp, I’ll try to blog about it to let you know what I learned about it.

Fundraising?

As most of my friends and family know, I’m not big on fundraising. Honestly, I have yet to find an eloquent way in which to ask people for money. That being said, I know that I can’t do this all on my own, and asking for help is just how its going to have to be.

So far, I’ve written letters to people asking for donations. (When I’m done with this blog I’ll go back to the drawing board to try and find more people to write to).

I’ve asked my church’s Mission Mat if they could donate. (I’ll know how much and if they can by the end of August).

I’ve talked to friends about the idea of holding a car wash here in town, and possibly a bake sale.

I’ve  sold T-Shirts (which while it didn’t go over as well as I would have liked, God has a plan).

I’m in the process of working on a letter for local business and other churches to see if they may want to help as well. Whether it be financially, or perhaps to help host a fundraiser.

What happens if you don’t raise the money in time?

While I firmly believe that God is leading me to be on the World Race in January 2016 with D-squad, I know that sometimes we as humans misread the situation or Satan gets involved and in the way. So if for whatever reason due to finances I’m not able to Launch with D-squad in January, then my plan is to take time pray, and potential postpone to Launch with one of the August routes. However, that is a “backup” plan so to speak. My focus is following God, and right now I firmly believe he wants me on D-Squad, so there is no need for a backup plan.

How Can I Help You?

  1. Financially. As always, I need help financially. This trip can’t be done on my own. It’s bigger than who I am. Any donation can help, weather its $1, $11,$111, or $1111, all donation’s help. Just click the support me button on this blog or go to my gofundme account at gofundme.com/deedeepeters
  2. PRAYER. Just as importantly if not more so pray for me and for my squad. Pray that we open our hearts to the possibilities of what may come; pray that we’re open to change; pray that the financial needs of each and everyone of my D-squad members is met. Pray for the people we are going to be spreading the word of God to, that their hearts be opening up to the idea, so that when we speak to them that they may be willing to hear what we have to say.

Thank You all for supporting me, both in prayer and financially. Like I’ve said before, I can’t do this all on my own. I need all of you and I need God.
