Do you ever have one of those days where you can practically hear the Holy Spirit telling you to do something?  This is not one of those things that is inspired and adventurous and awesome.  This is something you most definitely have no desire to do.

Today, I had one of those days.  It's been building up for a while, this thing I know I have to do.  But I have been diligently ignoring it, because this is not a can of worms I want to open.  Why now, after all this time, God?  What purpose will it serve?

"Deborah, I really think this is something you need to do."

"But you have been saying you want to be spiritually ready to start the race, to do EVERYTHING in your power to learn everything you can about me."

"I know it won't be easy and it is going to mean burying your pride, rehashing old feelings, and humbling yourself. But that's exactly what you need to do. YOU have been praying and asking how you need to spiritually prepare.  This is another step I need you to take with me."

"Deborah…"

Humility. My ongoing race lesson.

So thankful and blessed to have a Lord and Savior with the patience to teach me.

Here goes nothing.
