Saying Goodbye is one of my least favorite things to do.
And the past few weeks have been nothing but a prolonged one with everything and everyone closest to my heart.
I am not accustomed to goodbyes though, being someone who moved forty five mins from the town I grew up in for college……..Goodbye was not a big part of my vocabulary. Until these past few weeks where its been one of my most used words.
This morning, as I sit on my hotel bed in Atlanta preparing to go to Cambodia, I am thankful that my Goodbyes are gut wrenching.
I am thankful that they leave me sobbing to point I can’t breathe and have to do that weird gasp cry thing.
I am thankful I have a lot to say goodbye to.
I am thankful that I still have three of the hardest goodbyes left tomorrow when I have to say see you later to my Mom and Sisters that have loved, and known me since the day I was born.
I’m thankful that its hard because it means I am so very loved, just as much as I love. And even though its harder then I ever expected to say goodbye for a year. I can smile when tears run down my face. Holding you all inside my heart til I see you again.
T minus 3 days til Cambodia……..
