Finished up the second week of ministry today and what a time it has been,

to give you even a small picture of my new norm would be hard to put in a single concise blog post, but I’ll try.

Every week we have one day off, its Saturday, and we can stay and rest, explore the city, sit in a coffee shop and process the week or whatever we are feelin’ .Our day off is labeled “adventure day” however I beg to differ, I would have to say my adventure days are the days here in the province, every morning I wake up I have no idea what adventure might slowly waltz by, such as walking down the road with my host and teammates, listening to her tell stories of her childhood and culture. We watch locals catch fish with their hands or nets among the rice fields as the sunsets in the Cambodian sky. However, sometimes adventure sends you an upper cut to the jaw and surprises you so much you spin just a lil’ bit. For instance, that time when my team and I were sitting outside at night and we see huge flashlight at the locked gates of the school and they start to circle the school and we all ran into our room heart pounding locking every door we could behind us. Turns out it was the people that run the snack stand near by checking to make sure everything was locked for the night. Some adventures are just normal every day things if we were in America, but add another culture and a language barrier, and theres the recipe for a good adventure, Like the time when, I hopped on the back of the motor bike of one of the Cambodian teachers Tong to go to the local market together, She only speaks a few words of English and I only speak a few words of Kuhmer, then it started pouring rain while we were there trying to buy groceries together, trucking through puddles and arguing over fruit prices with vendors  and running between raindrops , and praying the motor bike doesn’t die. Laughing all the way.

I’m thankful for adventure days, but I’m even more thankful for days full of adventure. Thank you for keeping up with my crazy Cambodian adventures!!! God bless  you all as we go into another week!
