I. AM. A. SAINT.
I have been made new in Christ. I am no longer JUST a forgiven sinner saved by grace, as I’ve stated in the past. Making that statement denies the work that God is doing in my life. God tells me in His Word that if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
I have not just been redeemed and born again in Christ, but I have become a daughter of God. John 1:12-13 says, “But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons (and daughters) of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
My old-self has been crucified with Christ. God didn’t repair the old self, but He created a new self in Christ, which is what scripture refers to in Galatians 2:20 when it reads, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
In Jesus Christ, I am a sanctified saint. It is by God’s will and the help of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word that I will eagerly try to live this out. I have been made new in Christ, and am born of God! This new being that I have become in Christ is created in righteousness and holiness as it reads in Ephesians 4:24, “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
