I. AM. LOVED.
I am loved by God the Father, not because of what I have or have not done, but rather because of who I am. That’s right … I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not in order to be loved. Rather, just the way I am, with all my flaws, inconsistencies and uniqueness, I am loved by my Heavenly Father.
God tells us in scripture and shows us just how much He loves us, that “…while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Even before I gave my life to Christ, over 15 years ago, I was loved.
Jesus tells us in scripture that, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). Therefore, how can I even begin to doubt His love for me? Jesus laid down His life FOR ME and FOR YOU.
The wages of our sin on this worldly earth is death (Romans 6:23), but this steep price tag was paid on our behalf. It was through the precious Blood of the Lamb through the death of Jesus Christ, because of the deep love that He has for us.
I want to experience the fullness of God, and in the past I haven’t fully comprehended or realized the immense love that God has for me … by just being me. God has been blowing me away and what an incredible feeling it creates inside. Ephesians 3:17-19 says, “…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you (I) may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
Finally, as one of God’s children, Jesus shares his love with me in John 15:9 which reads, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”
