Hi Friends! First I just want to say welcome to my blog and my journey! 🙂 This is really the first time that I've ever blogged about anything, so it might take me a few tries to really get it right! How cool is it that the first time I am getting to blog is because of a wonderful experience taking place in my life. It was about a little over a month ago that I found out about the World Race, spent a lot of time looking through the website, reading other Racer's blogs, and feeling so much joy imagining joining them.
I found out about the race while I was on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. A couple days after coming home I applied for the World Race and thought, "well, here goes nothing!". I kept trying to be content with this situation and that if this is something God has planned for me he will weave it out the way he wants to. A few weeks later I found out I was accepted, and here I am writing my blog! I will have the opportunity to be doing a variety of mission work including construction, outreach, loving orphans and ministering to women and children in human trafficking in the countries of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, India, China, Nepal, Thailand, and Cambodia.
This is definitely one of those things that I really never thought would happen to me. As I look back on the past few years of my life, I REALLY could have never seen this coming. But looking at all of that now, God had this planned all along, gave me, and took things away that brought me to this point. This process has certainly been a challenging and overwhelming one, but knowing where I will be and how I will be helping others and all for God's glory brings a smile to my face. I have been yearning to be doing something more, living more for the Lord, and to be used in any way I can be for His glory. I knew that I was made for something more, which I am still unsure of what exactly that is, but this is a first step to an amazing journey.
This is only the beginning, and I just ask that you join me in prayer as I continue to prepare myself before launch time in January. I am so excited and just totally taken back at how I will be able to be the Lord's light to unreached places and just love people. I can't wait to keep you updated with stories and pictures along the way!
Here are just a few fun facts about me since this is an "about me" blog! 🙂
- I love to be around people! My community means so much to me.
- I really love a good nap.
- I could eat Chipotle always.
- I currently live in Reisterstown, Maryland, but I am originally from Voorhees, NJ.
- Music and long nature walks are just a couple ways I really feel connected to God.
- The beach is where I like to spend my quiet time when I can

Well, I think that is it for now. Until next time, and thank you again for joining me!
With Love,
Dayna
