Puerto Barrios is beautiful and full of life. The community that we are living in is actually three generations of one family, the love here is palpable. Sunny and full of Palm trees, it is unbelievable how God has blessed us with such an amazing ministry to be a part of this month. Shofar ministry exemplifies what it is to be the hands of feet of Christ. They reach out of street kids that live in the dump by bringing them food, they go to a local orphanage, give the children food and show them they are loved, they have an internet café where they teach adults and children to use the internet, running a Christian radio station that is geared towards young adults and they have Casa Verde Ministry where they host missionary teams and bring them into the community to help them with their goal of showing the love of Christ to the broken and bringing light into the darkness.
Our contact, Paul, is a blessing. He has so much wisdom to share with us and he has shown us so much hospitality already and we have only been here for one day…that is the body of Christ. Paul has truly given his life to God and has been following His call now for 15 years. He has been so encouraging, caring, loving and open to having us here. He has been involved with World Race teams since the very beginning (2006). I cannot wait to see how God is going to move while we are here this month. His presence is here and it is thick…I am ready to be led in His truth.
