Call me foolish; everyone else does! I mean who leaves the comforts of everything you’ve ever known to enter into a world of unknown, basic necessities, and day-by-day faith? That is absolutely absurd. Well, that is what the world tells me. Society tells me that I should be all about me. Why would I want to live out of a backpack with strangers I barely know? Why would I want to sacrifice my own pleasures and possessions to give people I’ve never met, which are all the way across the world, a glimpse of hope and joy? None of this makes sense. I must be a fool.
A fool in the eyes of some coworkers.
A fool in the eyes of some friends.
A fool in the eyes of some family.
A fool in the eyes of society.
So, what lead to my “foolishness?” I realized there was more to this life then just getting by. There was more to this life then lending an occasional helping hand. God has called me to something greater than myself. He has called me to HIM! Wow, it is still amazing and mind-blowing that God desires, yearns even, to use me to accomplish his glory and his story. God is just looking for someone to faithfully say, “I will go!” That is what I did…
My heavenly father is molding me and raising me to be the man that he longs for me to be. He is raising me to carry out his mission. I am not any better than anyone. God is also raising me to see that He is the Creator and we are his most prized creation. He created us for a life of community.
A life of loving one another.
A life of caring for the broken and pointing them to the Healer.
A life where I just GO!
He is raising me to raise others!
AND DADDY DIDN’T RAISE NO FOOL!!!
Instead, he is molding a conqueror. God is orchestrating the opportunity for me to share my joy with the nations. He is allowing me share him with others. He yearns for me to be his hands and his feet; however, I am not alone. I am going with many others who have been called fools, yet are reassured that God's plan is better! Also, God wants YOU! He wants you to be a part of this journey. Maybe that means being a prayer warrior all of my U Squad, or maybe that means giving financially. It could be giving $5 or it could be giving until it hurts! God wants to stretch you and grow you as you come along side me in this adventure to transform this world.
God wants us to love how he loves and conquer evil with good!
ROMANS 12:9-21 says,
"Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good. Be devoted to each other like a loving family. Excel in showing respect for each other. Don’t be lazy in showing your devotion. Use your energy to serve the Lord. Be happy in your confidence, be patient in trouble, and pray continually. Share what you have with God’s people who are in need. Be hospitable.
Bless those who persecute you. Bless them, and don’t curse them. Be happy with those who are happy. Be sad with those who are sad. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be arrogant, but be friendly to humble people. Don’t think that you are smarter than you really are.
Don’t pay people back with evil for the evil they do to you. Focus your thoughts on those things that are considered noble. As much as it is possible, live in peace with everyone. Don’t take revenge, dear friends. Instead, let God’s anger take care of it. After all, Scripture says, “I alone have the right to take revenge. I will pay back, says the Lord.” But,
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. If you do this, you will make him feel guilty and ashamed.”
Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil with good."
SO YOU CAN CALL ME FOOLISH, BUT I AM NO FOOL. I REFUSE TO BE NOTHING BUT A CONQUEROR.
WILL YOU JOIN ME?
