This is the question of a lifetime….Who Am I???
Well yes of course my name is David, but does that define who I am? Not at all.
If I were to ask you who someone was, you would state their name, quickly followed by what they do for a living or a role that they play in the world around them….typically.
So as I have been searching for the answer to this question, I keep going deeper and deeper and finding more of myself than I ever knew existed.
Before I get there, who are you??
Think about that for a minute…really…WHO ARE YOU???
Im not talking about what you do. Thats classified as your job. Im not talking about what your name is. That is simply a name given to you. I am not talking about the decisions that you have made in the past. They are in the past. I am not talking about the lies that you have been told about yourself for years or the lies you told yourself. Those are simply lies. Im talking about in the core of what makes you you. Who are you right now??
A few months ago I would have answered with “My name is David and I have had many jobs.”
My answer now however is very, very different. My job doesn’t matter. I don’t have one. What others tell me about myself, that I may not be good enough, that I may not act good enough, that I may be over qualified or under-qualified. These are all labels that the world wants us to believe.
Who Am I??
I am David, beloved son of the Lord Jesus Christ and warrior in his kingdom. Your worth is not found in earthly things, but instead your worth is from Jesus. Jesus created you. He said you are worth so much more than you know. So why believe anyone else who says any differently?
If I hand you a $20 bill and say that it is only worth $10, would you believe me? No, because I don’t have the power or authority to decide that. That bill was created by someone else with more power, more authority, and they say its worth $20. If that bill is used to buy drugs, food, alcohol, pay rent, buy clothes, or to buy a gun. It doesn’t matter if the bill is used for good or bad purchases. It is still worth $20.
The key is finding that your worth is not in what you have been spent on in the past. Your worth is from the one who created you and proclaimed over you “You’re worth it.”
So Who Am I??
I am a priceless heir to the kingdom of God fighting to grow his kingdom here on earth.
Now the question is….
Who Are You?
