Let me start off by saying that if you haven’t read my last blog “Babel Rebuilt”, this blog may not make sense to you. So I encourage you to read that first and then come back and read this. God is so good!!
Steve ended up coming to church the the next day. Through translation I found out that he had a hernia that was around 15 years old and he had some condition that makes his jaw shake uncontrollably, and the only way for him to combat this is to get injections which he cannot afford. So Luka (a local guy who was with us all month), Derrick Dameron and I prayed over him for the hernia and the jaw issue.
The next week he showed up and once again through translation he told me that his hernia had shrunk from the size of a baseball to the size of a golfball. He also was able to get the injections somehow for his jaw. He then proceeded to tell me “Jesus, he’s in me” in a heavy Serbian accent. I told him that only God is capable of the healing that he has experienced.
A couple days later he showed up randomly and gave me a couple metal horse figure things that some of his only personal possessions. He told me that if I show up 1, 2, 3, 4…10 years from now, he’s my friend. That hit me so hard and on the last week of us being in Serbia, it made it that much harder to leave. God has forever changed Steve’s heart through me and He has also changed my heart forever through Steve.
