Toward the end of our month we visited a house that one of our contacts this month was looking at renting. His vision was to make it a place were girls could go when they get kick out of school for being pregnant so that they could continue with education, and also a place were students could come and rest during the school year. Because here in Thailand the kids live in dorms at the school they attend with very little supervision, so many time drugs and sex run throughout these schools. It is also easy for the kids to feel alone while being away from there family, and this house would offer a place to play games and see the love of Jesus lived out. As we were taking a tour of this HUGE house, we asked our contact what was the main reason why he hasn’t started the project yet, and to no surprise like most ministry related thing the only thing keeping this ministry from starting was money. However, what was surprising and a slap in the face, was that there financial need to pay for this house was only $100.00 a month. It took a minute for that to sink in. This man only need a support amount of 100 dollars a month to start a ministry that could change the atmosphere at the school that was across the street. It kinda makes you think about just how much money we throw away on stupid stuff we “need ” in the States… Oh how selfish we are…
Father, please provide the finances in your timing and will for this ministry, bless them for their obedience to your will and voice, because they are stepping out in faith following the vision that you have given to them. and teach us as individuals how to not grab tightly to money and the things of this world that we “need”, but instead teach us to focus on the things of you. In Jesus Christ holy name. Amen.
