So we are finally in cambodia after 4 straight days of travel, and the girls that we were waiting for in Bangkok are back with us, and were are back with the squad. It is good to be settled here and not have to travel anymore.
We are staying in Phnom Phen, which is a fairly large city. The people are fun to be around and we have a lot of freedom just to walk around and really experiance the culture…which is nice considering in Haiti my team was kinda confined because of the danger factor. When ever we go anywhere the kids in our ally all yell “HELLO!” as we walk by, it’s awesome! It is extreamly warm here, and I am pretty sure that I sweet more in one night of sleeping here than in most days back home…it is sick. The food is amazing! You can get a good meal from a street vender for about $1.00. The culture here is very different from the US, with a lot of ramdom things that are offensive to them that the average person would never know with out research. Such as: Girls are not supposed to hug guys in public, and feet are the dirtiest part of your body and it is very offensive if you show the bottom of your foot to some one ( like laying with your feet in some ones direction)
With all the good/ funny things about cambodia there are the sad, about 30 years ago Cambodia was in the middle of a huge genocide killing huge nubers of people, and not many people back in the states even herd about it. While Dave and I were in Bangkok waiting for the girls, the rest of the squad took a tour through the killing fields here in Phnom Phen, and the stories i heard from them were boneshaking. I wish that everyone who reads this blog would look into it and learn about the problems this country has seen.
Please keep praying for my squad and team during our time in Cambodia, and also pray about helping support me financially. The Lord has began a big work in me this year and his plan is to see it to completion, but part of that is to stay on this trip, and I need your help to do so. I am asking that if you believe in what God is doing in my life, and the work he is doing through me than please be a part of it by giving yo help me stay here. Thank you.
