As I look back at my past life I am in utter shock and amazement to the changes that the Lord has moved in me. Though I am only starting my journey into knowing and loving Christ I find that I am growing in leaps and bounds and it scares me yet excites me. I look forward to each new day to the hardships and lessons learned through Christ and his great teachings. With the pages of my story unfolding I want to invite you to read one great chapter about to unfold this coming year. My acceptance and travels through a missions trip called The World Race and this is my blog to read that chapter.
We live in a state of comfort, a state of acceptance and a state of drive to succeed and best ourselves in anything that we can do further our gain in life. What would it look like if we gave all that up? Gave up all the comforts we grown accustom to all the "perks" of living a life of success? If you asked me this 6 months ago I would of said "I don't know nor do I want to know", yet here I am accepted to an 11 month 11 country missions trip called The World Race where I do just that; give up my comforts and live through God among his less fortunate children and ultimately serving him day by day. Wow right? I know; and couldn't be more excited.
Now what is this World Race you may be asking right? Let me break it down for you. Essentially it is a Christian missions trip around the world visiting 11 countries and spending 1 month in each country serving the Lord and his people. Simply put I'll be traveling the world experiencing raw and real community while spreading Christ and his love. The World race is designed and orchestrated to challenge individuals to abandon the comforts of living for a better understanding that it's not about you; its about the Kingdom.
Now my route is the 4th route in July of 2013 and the countries I'll be visiting are:
- Romania
- Ukraine
- Ireland
- India
- Sri Lanka
- Kenya
- Uganda
- Rwanda
- Thailand
- Cambodia
- Malaysia
Now I want to say that the Lord calls people in different ways. I felt the Lord reaching out to me so I pressed into it and here I am going on an 11 months missions trip. Perhaps you feel the Lord reaching out to you to help the less fortunate as well; know that you can help me help the "least of these" by supporting me in my missions trip. I ask you to search your heart, ask God if you are meant to support me, but most of all pray about it and decide for yourself.
This trip will cost me roughly $15,500.00 and through your support and and God's will I will reach my fundraising deadlines and write this chapter of my life.
