So tonight was my turn to lead feedback. Feedback is a time where we come together as a team and share our highs and lows, our greivances and encouragements, etc. So tonight I lead the discussion with what God had been speaking to me about for the past week. Love.
I prayed about what I should say because I knew God wanted to make the time I had meaningful. Through many steps He led me to the appropriate book and then chapter and then verses. Here is the revelation that I had after this week. First off Love is the greatest spiritual gift. This isn’t so much a revelation as it is a restatement of something I already knew to be true. Yet from this God spoke to me. In 1st Corinthians chapter 13 it talks about how love relates to the other gifts, especially the more visible ones such as healing, tongues, and prophecy. Paul writes “If I speak in tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I am a noisy gong or clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and have all faith, so as to move mountains but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and If I deliver up my body to be burned but have not love, I gain nothing.” That last part about sacrificing yourself really hit me hard. Without love this little thing called the World Race turns into nothing. Nothing is gained from it and no one benefits from it. But at the same time this applies to everything else as well. If I can lay my hands on people and heal them of the worst cancers on earth but can’t show or feel God’s love for them than what is the point? Man is a creature that needs to be loved. Without love the world becomes empty and meaningless. But with love…The possibilities are endless! Healing, prophecy. tongues, and more the Spirit can bless us with! At the end of Mark in 16:14 Jesus tells the disciples to “Go into all the world”, and that “these signs will accompany those who believe: In may name they will speak in new tongues, they will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink deadly poisons they will not be harmed; they will lay thier hands on the sick and they will recover.” With the love of God instilled in us by the holy Spirit these things are more than possible. They are expected! I know that I will see these things on this journey and all I have to do is love people as God loves them! Hard for me but I rely on Him so it’s easy for us!
