Last week a co-worker came to me and asked if I would shift times with him. I was like sure I have nothing planned that day. Two days later I get an email. Big Game Night on the day I promised I would come in Early. My first reaction is, Haha, can’t believe I volunteered thinking nothing special would come up. Then my attitude changed. It wasn’t so much about what activity I was going to miss as much as it was about my attitude toward a situation that was not fair in my eyes. God wanted to see what was more important, the activity, the people involved in the activity, or my attitude. I soon learned that first and foremost it was having a proper attitude toward times that may seem unfair.
When I was okay with what I couldn’t control and realized this was a course of action where I fully trusted God with my life and times I was content, because I knew that even in this God would have His way and receive the Glory.
I went to the party and had fun with the people realizing that the people are of more importance than the activity. I enjoyed myself for the brief time I was there despite the fact I never was able to participate in any of the evening activities. This is major for me. I use to always place an activity or experience of being of more importance then relationships with the individuals involved. I would base my success in Life on what I did and not on having healthy relationships.
So God Taught me Two Wise things:
- Have a Good Attitude and Trust God that He can Use All Circumstances For Our Growth and His Glory.
- Relationships with people are always more important than whatever activity we are involved in. Don’t get so caught up in what you are doing for your self or God that you forget to be involved in others lives to Bring Glory to God and Better another individuals Life for having been there to encourage and Lift another with your Story that then Lifts and encourages them in their Story Of How God is working in there life.
