Yellow Shirts Everywhere!!!

It was a wild night. All the teams gathered together in downtown atlanta at the safehouse to have an “Ask the Lord” night. Quite simply we would put the entire night into God’s hands and ask Him what He wanted us to do. It was also one of the funnest nights of my life. So as team Joholo we gathered together and prayed asking the Holy Spirit to fill us and quiet our own emotions and thoughts and the thoughts of the enemy so that we could hear from God what He had for us. 

 

He spoke to each one of us several different clues to look for during the night. Among them were: Yellow Shirt (two people had this written
down), Mercedes car, McDonald’s, the colour purple, a small pine tree, Fish and Chips Restaurant, Corner Cafe’, the
color Purple, someone would be hungry, the number 321, a foreigner wearing a white top and bottom with a baby involved and the names:
Carl, Keith and Jones, and Anger.

We got really excited as we thought about how specific these clues were and how God was going to really have to come through. So we stepped out in raw faith and saw some really exciting stuff.

 

At first we weren’t seeing too much but we kept going for it and talking to people and asking them about the clues if any of them applied to them. Then amazing things started happening. We saw the lady with a white top and bottom and a baby and we prayed with her and it was really good. Then Grant I are standing near Mcdonald’s because that was one of the clues and I see a big guy with a yellow shirt (I think I had already talked to like four people with yellow shirts, they were everywhere!) but I hear God say “That’s your guy” so we introduce ourselves and ask Him if anything on the last stands out to HIm and he says “Yeah! I know Keith Jones, Man, that guy owes me money! and I planted a small pine tree in my backyard this last week” He was just leaving so we bless him and pray that Keith Jones would pay Him back promptly and God would be with Him.

 

Then we look for a place to eat and here is how Grant describes it “We were looking for something to
eat for dinner and everything was closed. Saturday night, around 7
o’clock and not a place open. We
walked in search for food and David spotted a sign that read “24
Hours” at the bottom of it. Turns out it was a 24 Hour Diner. We
decided to eat their considering nothing else was open. We thought
we were simply eating and taking a rest but God showed us otherwise. As
we flipped through the menu, the back page read “3-2-1 Special.”
We were amazed! The entire back page was filled with the number 321.
After we calmed down and ordered, I was looking around the Diner and
behind me was a man sitting alone eating. Instantly, God said “Feed
this man.” Without telling anyone, I walked to the clerk and told him
I would be paying for this man’s meal. Later when signing the receipt, can
you guess what color the ink was? Purple! I almost lost it. The pen
was purple along with the ink color. Just amazing!”

 

 So that was really exciting and we walk out of the diner and within half a block we see a Mercedes. By this time in the night our faith is soaring and we are so excited for what God is going to do. So we decide to just wait beside the car until God brings his treasure to us. Well Julia turns around and sees a restaurant sering Fish and Grits!! Then on the corner of the opposite street we see the restaraunt “Corner Cafe”! We just about lose it we are so excited and know this is exactly where God wants us 🙂 And what do you know just then a guy walks around the corner wearing a yellow shirt. We introduce ourselves and he tells us his name is “Claire” which is pretty close to the “Carl/Carol” that we had. So he tells us what we can pray for him for and we pray and show him all of the clues that God showed us so that we would meet him here. We tell him “This is no coincedence that we met you here tonight, God has such a plan for you” and he agreed, thanked us and walked away. Immediately afterwards a purple dump truck drives past us. Who has ever seen a purple dump truck?!? That was the clincher of the night for me, God is amazing!! He was just showing off at that point.

 

So overall we ended up praying for a lot of people that God sent us to pray for and putting some questions in their minds about how much God cares about them that he would give a group of people specific clues about them to send us to them. It was awesome, I am getting really pumped just remembering that night.  I guess the moral of this story is: be open to trusting God, step out in faith even when it seems goofy and God will come through. He loves us so much.
