Well it’s been a year ago, November 15th, 2012 in which my view on life changed once again. For on this day I had an interview with the World Race. My outlook on what my life could look like changed. The days were numbered in which I would have with the life I knew and the community I was apart of. Knowing that it will and could not ever be the same when I returned. It seemed like forever in the future that I would leave everything I knew to embark on a journey around the entire world to experience God in a new way! Could this happen? Will it happen? As I sit in my tent used for a mosquito net on a bed in Nepal, it’s happening!

The first week of this month we had a debrief.  New squad leaders were raised up along with team leaders.  Our route and team also got changed.  I am very sad to see these countries go. Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda.  These countries have now been replaced with Swaziland, South Africa, and China.  I was really hoping to run with the Kenyans!

We are currently in Nepal working with one other team from our squad and also joining forces with a team from R squad! This place is BEAUTIFUL. I have never seen more beautiful mountains that here in Nepal (home of Mt. Everest). Mountain silhouettes cover the horizon sometimes completely around me. Behind those mountains are snowcapped mountains twice as tall. The people here are pretty joyful all the time, especially our cook “Commando!” The children all say hello and wave you down the roads. So far this month we have made several treks to nearby villages to evangelize. We are in the flatlands and it is way hotter than the mountains area of Kathmandu. We’ll walk for 30-40 minutes sometimes with only headlamps to light the way!  On our day off we took an Elephant Safari!  We saw Rhinos, crocodiles, deer, spiders, and termite hills.  That was a lot of fun.

It’s funny how things that seemed so “out there” is everyday life now. We prayed for this lady who’s mostly deaf, and she got some of her hearing back! That was really cool to see God work. One evening someone was like “where did so and so go?”

Someone replied “Oh a group just went to cast out a demon in a lady”   “Ok, all right.”

After a service at a small village church, a young lady came up to us and thanked us for coming.  She said many locals came that would never have come before.  She said “they saw Americans and want to know what was going on.”  One of the house visits was to a Hindu family.  After visiting with them and singing a song they told us they didn’t want to hear about any other religions.  So then we left.  This is hard sometimes but at least we planted a seed.  Currently they are having elections and many strikes have taken place. Public transportation is held up possibly until the elections in about a week. So our schedule got shifted a little bit, since we used public transportation for traveling.  The rest of the month our base will be in Kathmandu.

Well I had my first birthday out of the States! I turned 26 and had an enjoyable day with 2 of my T-squad teams in Kathmandu.

Our final financial deadline is Jan. 1st  I still need $3,140 to be fully funded!  Thank you all so much for the support and the support through prayers, they mean more than you know!
