Hailey freakin Grimm (sorry I don’t know your middle name). My girl. I know it’s completely cliché to say that words don’t do a person justice, but this time it’s never been more true. I could go on for days and never even scratch the surface of how much she means to me and has impacted me in the short time I have known her.
Who would’ve known that my lack of competence when it comes to setting up a tent, would be the start of an incredible friendship. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I asked the quiet girl next to me for help.
Little did I know that she would be the one to find me before my soul care just to cover me in prayer. That she would be the one to comfort me when I couldn’t hold back the tears at launch. She would be the one to speak life giving words into me over and over again before I even knew I needed it. She would be the one to show me that brokenness is okay and to stand beside me when I accepted it. She has been a constant shoulder to cry on, an escape from the chaos, and a pure example of Jesus’ love in my life.
Over these past fourth months I have had the privilege of watching God grow Hailey and draw her out of her shell in the most beautiful ways. She presses into the hard things the Lord places in front of her without hesitation. Her obedience inspires me. I have watched her battle anxiety and homesickness and overcome it. Her strength inspires me. God has given her the gift of prophecy and she speaks boldly and with confidence in that. Her faith inspires me. Hailey has led our bizarre, loud, and stubborn team with unexplainable amounts of grace and kindness. Her compassion inspires me.
Hailey has a gentle and humble spirit that directly reflects Jesus. Her simple and genuine love for the Lord draws people in. Her kindness is evident the minute you meet her and she makes everyone feel seen and known. Hailey celebrates every little gift from God and inspires a spirit of gratitude in the people around her. Her love for people is deep and intentional.
Hailey you are always encouraging people and speaking truth into the lives of others. Well here’s some truth that you should know about yourself:
You are a MASTERPIECE. God created every little detail of who are and said “Yes. That’s perfect.” You are more beautiful than every star in the sky.
Your story MATTERS. Everything you have walked through and are going to walk through, is the most beautiful expression of God’s glory and faithfulness. There is power in what Gods children declare. Your words have influence.
You are CHOSEN. God could have picked anyone to be in your place, traveling the world and leading our team but He picked you. You carry a presence that is powerful and holy.
You are WORTHY of love. You were passionately loved by the creator of the galaxies before you were even born. To this day He is still madly in love with you. Don’t ever doubt your worth.
Hailey you are a light to this world and you have been a light in my life. Thank you for showing me the difference between happiness and joy. Thank you for walking along side me through the ups and downs of this wild journey and for loving me so well. You have taught me about vulnerability and grace just by the way you live your life. Forever thankful for your friendship.
I pray that this year you walk in FREEDOM as a beloved daughter of Christ. I pray that you laugh harder, sing boldly, and dance a lot more. Let the world see the beauty the Lord has placed in you.
(p.s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!)
