The World Race is a mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months. But it’s not just a mission
trip; it is an adventure of a lifetime.
The World Race challenges participants to have a life-changing experience that affects
how they live their lives, serve others, relate to God, and bring the kingdom to earth —
today.
The first World Race began in 2006 with a group of 22 people who set out on the
journey of a lifetime. Making their way through the world on faith, they knocked on doors,
slept in streets, and depended on God.
Since that first trip, the World Race has grown and expanded. In 2011, we sent out our
1,000th Racer and expect to send thousands more.
Each group of Racers — called a “squad” — has a unique country route that spans
across the globe. Racers join intentional communities and partner with pre-existing
ministries and missionaries around the world.
There is a generation whose heartbeat is to see a changed world. This
generation is actively rising to the challenge of seeing the world transformed through
tangible expressions of God's love. World Racers are seeing that change and
experiencing it for themselves.
Racers visit ancient ruins, hike up volcanoes, swim under waterfalls, and experience the
vastness of God’s creation. They trade in marketplaces, befriend people caught in
modern-day slavery, and strengthen local church bodies around the world.
The World Race is a sacrifice. Racers dedicate eleven months to relying on God to guide
their steps and lead them into situations they would never experience any other way.
Racers find their faith growing strong as they let go of the things of this world and
discover a deeper meaning and purpose for their lives.
