A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported me in prayer, financially, by commenting on my blogs, sharing my posts, or in any other way whatsoever. I could never have done this alone. I knew that God called me to the race but to be honest, I was prepared to borrow money and I imagined that I would have to cover about half of the race costs out of pocket. The expenditures for gear, medical travel insurance, additional food beyond our $4/day, souvenirs, and sightseeing/tourism has still added up to a few thousand dollars but God has provided the means to cover most or all of that between savings and other minor allotments. Anyways, the point is to say this: I thought I would have to cover much of this by myself somehow and although I knew God could provide, I was not super confident that he would.
So, yet another tick in the book for the man upstairs coming through and my lack of faith being humbly shut down. Thank you all so much for sticking by me, being a part of God’s plan in my life, and having faith and confidence in me even when my own was teetering on the verge of collapse. Not every day has been pretty but I am learning more and more to trust God and that my doubts and negative attitude are most often the biggest obstacle in the way of seeing what God is really doing.
Here’s to continuing on, fighting for my teammates and myself, venturing to have more faith and trust, and being open to the miracles that God has in store for the next 4 months and even more afterwards.
