This month we’ve been in Vulcanesti, Moldova working with a
local Pentecostal church. We’ve been working closely with Pastor
Marin (sounds like Marine) who is an awesome man of God. He’s in his
early thirties, but has already been a pastor for eight years. His
passion for the Lord and his congregation is inspiring. We’ve been
to many prayer meetings, worship times, and services with him and
his congregation and they have been some intense times of intimacy
with the Lord. His vision isn’t for a huge church, but rather a
small close-knit group of believers who seek the Lord with all their
heart, mind, and strength. His church is called New Life and it’s
filled with exactly that. There is so much life and joy in that
place. Every time I go I feel a breath of life, really.
I’ve preached twice and lead worship tons of times. As a team
we’ve been leading kids after school ministry and Sunday school,
where we sing songs, tell Bible stories, and play games. The kids
opened up really fast to us, and we’ve been having tons of fun with
them. Apart from ministry at the church, we’ve also come to realize
that our translator, Andre, who has been living in our apartment
with us this month is part of our ministry. He’s 24 and plays the
guitar really well, which has been awesome as he has been playing
with me during worship and playing along as we sing songs for the
kids. He’s at a transition point in his life, where he needs to
choose to follow the Lord with all he’s got, and it’s cool to be a
part of that transition. He’s basically become a seventh team member
this month and we wouldn’t know where we would be without him. It’s
going to be hard for us and him to part. He’s already told us tons
of times that he hates thinking about that day. Only the Lord can
bring people together that quickly.
I already wrote about how our team has been changing and moving
this month, basically this month rocked our socks off! It’s not over
yet, but with only a week left we’re definitely starting to feel the
strain of having to leave, but at the same time it’s exciting to
think about what comes next…AFRICA! But that’s still awhile away,
so we must stay focused on the task God has put before us this day.
Thanks again for your support and prayers! As always please let me
know what’s going on in that noggin’ of yours, I love comments! I
love you guys, God bless!
