JANUARY – Dominican Republic
1. Braddigan – The Captive
2. Braddigan – Watchfires
(braddigan used to front Dispatch, a band selling out Madison Square Garden until one night, the Lord told him that he had a different plan for his life. Braddigan packed up, moved down to Central America and spent lots of time with a community living in a trash dump. He understood God had gifted him with the purpose of using his musical gift for God’s glory, not his own…and to this day, he serves the Lord faithfully with his gifts.)
FEBRUARY – Haiti

1. David Crowder Band – Remedy

2. Jon Foreman – Limbs and Branches
(remedy really helped me to understand what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus…actively being used by God and led by the Holy Spirit to bring redemption to a broken, cursed (which is stress in Haiti) world.)
MARCH – Cambodia
1. Jason Upton – Dying Star
(jason upton worships. and he knows how to help others get into a place of worship. he’s money because he’s so willing to be used of God….check him, and if you have any pull, see if you can get your church to start worshipping similar to the way he does…)
APRIL – Thailand
1. Misty Edwards – Relentless
(another worship leader, misty edwards has one of the most powerful voices. she spoke a lot of truth into my heart as a woman of God in a country where the women are seen in such a poor way. she taught me how to let God pursue me, and how to let his love overwhelm me into worship…)
MAY – Malaysia
1. Seabird – Til We See the Shore
2. LaCrae
(seabird just sings fun music. lacrae, he’s a rapper who got into rap as a way to share the gospel in prisons. he developed a gift and the inmates asked for cd’s, so he produced one. his songs are dripping with Truth, and are written as an autobiography of a broken man who wants to be built back up by Christ…soooo good)
JUNE – Mozambique

1. Jennifer Knapp – Kansas

2. Shawn McDonald – Live in Seattle
i didn’t have an iPod last month, i left it in South Africa, so the music selection was thin at best. I had my phone that had these two albums on it, and i listened to them over and over each night. Jennifer Knapp is still one of the strongest prophetic voices i’ve ever heard, and Shawn McDonald wears his heart on his sleeve. Great!

I had a professor at Moody who thought that the language of heaven was music. Until sin enters the world, he argued, Adam spoke in poetry as if he were singing. Every glimpse of heaven is full of angels singing to our God. Whether it’s true, music captures my heart and sums up my emotions better than my words or thoughts ever could.
Each month, there have been one or two CDs that I’ve gravitated to. I’m gonna share them. I’ll admit, there’s nothing new on this list…in fact, I saw the iTunes store the other day and only knew five of the artists with top ten singles, and hadn’t heard a single one of them.
I post this for two reasons. First, check out these CDs…if for no other reason than helping you to get a feel for what I’m feeling on this race. Second, I’m running out of music. The iPod just doesn’t have as much as I wish it did…so I need suggestions for CDs to get on iTunes, (of course you could always email me a good CD to the AIM address….just saying)
