Hey y’all! I want to share a story about how God moved last month in Thailand. I was in Khon Kaen, Thailand working with Team Abiding Azar and Team Ahava. The host told us that we were going to rehab. This was an all male drug addiction rehab center with men from all ages. We were told to prepare a skit and 2 testimonies.

When we arrived, the men were already sitting down, and they had set aside chairs for us. The way the chairs were set up it felt like an us versus them vibe. So I decided to move my chair and sit beside one of the residents.

The other residents started to smile and laugh. Apparently the other residents thought that I resembled the 19 year old guy I chose to sit by. I didn’t see any resemblance lol. The man was shy, but for some reason he stood out to me.

That was because the Lord was about to do something.

We were working with the organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM), and they had prepared some songs and a game. We finally did a skit called “Contagious”. The skit talks about how we all carry influence, and how people can influence us to walk in a positive way and also in a negative way. The skit ends with Jesus changing one person’s life which influences the rest of the characters to follow Jesus.

David and Melissa, both racers from X-squad, explained the meaning of the skit, and created a space for us to pray for the residents. It was time for Melissa and Liz to share their testimonies. I felt God say to give the residents an opportunity to follow Jesus after the testimonies were shared. I told Liz, a racer, to invite the residents to follow Jesus after her testimony.

She did and 10 people decided to follow Jesus!! We prayed over them and celebrated their decision.

This is a picture of us praying over the people who decided to follow Jesus.

BUT GOD WASN’T FINISHED.

We got into smaller groups with the residents and talked with them. The 19 year old man was in my group. While one of the translator was sharing her testimony of how she came to know Christ, I started asking God if there was anything that He had to say or wanted me to say.

He immediately told me that the 19 year old man’s heart was opened to Him. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I was like “ok that’s cool God. Is there anything else?” I didn’t think much of what God had said.

God then put on my heart to tell the new Christians that life with Jesus doesn’t mean that it will be an easy life. That Jesus actually promises us hardship and difficulties, but that God is with us through it all and that we don’t have to go through it alone. So I told them.
It was time to leave.

As we were walking away, I turned around and saw the 19 year old man looking at one of the translators who was up front. He looked as if he was trying to muster up the confidence to go speak to him. He would start walking toward the translator, and then turn around.

I kinda had a sense of what was going on, so I went up to him and walked with him to the translator. I told the translator that I think he wants to accept Jesus, but I’m not sure.

The translator asked him and the man said “I want to follow Jesus, but I don’t know how!”

You should’ve seen my face! We showed him how to receive Jesus and prayed over him. God never ceases to amaze me! Here is a picture of him. He is wearing the black jacket.

We gave the names of the new believers to the organization we were working with and they are doing follow up with them.

P.S. So I didn’t reach my fundraising goal, so I have been given a FINAL deadline of March 31st, 2018. I have a little over 5 months left on the field. I need $6,186 in order to stay on the field with X-Squad. Please pray that God will bring in the funds. If you or anyone would like to donate, then do so on this blog: DavanteJones.theworldrace.org. Thank you for all of your prayers, comments, and support. They really do mean a lot. Love y’all!
