I feel it in my bones you’re about to move!
On our official first day of ministry (day 5 of being in Mokhotlong, Lesotho, Africa), God showed up big time! A blind woman was healed, and was able to see a picture of herself for the first time in only God knows how long.
I went on a prayer walk with the other guys on my team (Dylan and Daniel). We asked the Holy Spirit to give us ears to hear Him and eyes to see Him. After walking for a good amount of time, Daniel told us that we had to turn around, because He couldn’t get this clothing store he saw out of His mind. Thank God Daniel was obedient, because the owner of that clothing store was thirsty for the Truth! We now have an opportunity to study the Bible with the owner on a regular basis.
While we were walking back to our ministry site, a taxi man stopped me and started speaking to me in Sotho (the native language of Lesotho) SN: all of the locals think I’m from Lesotho. I will be posting a blog soon about how I’ve been dealing with that. After telling him that I only speak English, he began to speak in English to me. He asked me where I was from and what we were doing here. I told him that I was from Georgia in the United States, and that we were here helping Harvester Bible Church.
This is where the conversation took a turn. He asked me with a cigarette in his mouth, if we only helped people from Harvesters or if we helped people that attend other churches. I could tell from his eyes that he had been turned away before. I could tell from the tone of his voice that he was angry with us because of other peoples’ offenses, and I could tell from the crowd of taxi drivers standing around listening to us that this could go good or bad. I told him the truth: “We are here to share the love of God. We are children of God and you are too. We are here to show love to everyone! Man…I love you!” With the cigarette in his mouth, he began to smile. He told us that he wanted to meet up to “talk about Jesus.” Praise God!
People are thirsty and desperate for the Truth here, and God is giving us opportunities to share it! I challenge you all back home to intentionally seek out opportunities to share the Truth in love. God has placed us all right where we are for a Kingdom Purpose, and it’s time to walk into that.
P.S. I am still at risk of being pulled from the race if I don’t reach my September 30th fundraising goal ($13,000). Please prayerfully consider supporting me financially and prayerfully. You can donate by clicking “donate” at the top of page.
