– I placed a call to Adventures in Missions staff: “I am calling to let you all know I cannot make it to the men’s hike as I originally planned. I still need money, gear, and my car broke down this morning…”
My thoughts: “Well this is about up to par when God calls His children to something and Satan wants to stop it.”

– In the week or so leading up to this day for the most part, I refused to let doubt and fear have the final say at the end of the day.
12 May 14
– I stumble in temptation. Guilt and fear sets in.

– Car “breaks”, frustrated and feeling off from yesterdays mistakes. I call a friend who lives nearby and also on my World Race squad. I meet up with her and her sister and began to get thoughts out and sitting in frustration. I go to leave and she says “I think you are going to go on the man hike tomorrow.” It was odd, I heard those words but my spirit heard (a call to rise and be a man of God) “Darron, I need you to go as a brother in Christ and build a strong bond with our other brothers in Christ. It will be greatly needed for this Race and life.” I respond to her “yeah, you think so?” “Your right…”
-I went home and packed till after midnight

– I humbly go to get the part number off the part that was broke on my car because my Father offers to pay for the suspected $200.00 part. The part turns in my hand “thats not supposed to happen…” (Long story short, the part had just came unscrewed.) So we tighten it up, I give it a test run, call A.I.M., and within about two hours I am on the road to Georgia for the man hike / training camp.
“Never Once” – Matt Redman (If you missed the note before, God has been faithfully reminding me He will never leave me to walk alone through this song playing at just the right time) It came on just as I finished this real story of God’s faithfulness in my life. The hike and training camp was incredible. I was blessed by my fathers support to make it financially to and from Georgia for it all. I learned a bit more on how to joyfully live with less, and God started visibly uniting our squad and our teams. Look for more blogs to come about the hike / training camp.
Challenge: How has God been faithful in your life to never leave you alone? Please share so we can be encouraged by your story that God is leading you through. If you think you cant see the light on the other side just yet, keep pressing into God. “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 ESV) God has never left a child of His to fight alone, and He will not start with you.
“Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you. But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.” (Psalm 73:23-28 ESV)
