I’m an adrenaline junky.. I’ll be the first to admit it.

I’ve loved taking chances all of my life. Any crazy idea you could have, I would more than likely be up for the challenge..

White water rafting class 4-5 rapids, riding around one of the longest speedways in the world in germany.. twice.. Skydiving (check back to my other blogs)..I’ve fallen off the back of a motorcycle going well above the speed limit and managed to only sustain one major injury, which is now nothing more than a scar as a reminder.. I’ve ran a few half marathons.. Driven across country by myself.. Flown to foreign countries alone.. ATTEMPTED to surf (haha).. moved to cities where I don’t know a soul by myself to jump into jobs that I knew nothing about… I’ve ended up in the black slopes on a snowboard with my best friend (luckily we made it out of those alive).. I’ve jumped off HUGE cliffs in the middle of spain.. and so much more.

ALL of those things are crazy.. Yes.. they are. Spending all of this time doing these things, i’ve learned ALOT. These were the things that made my heart beat faster.. but for only a brief moment. A fraction of time where you feel completely alive.. Your heart beats faster.. you have a hard time catching your breath. It’s beautiful… but those temporary moments don’t last.. and they, in turn do end.. and leave nothing more than a memory. Maybe a positive one, maybe a negative one.. but NONETHELESS,

a memory.

So let me tell you what makes my heart beat faster now.. It’s NONE of those things..

I woke up Monday morning.. feeling a little anxious about my life. Seeing as by the end of the week, I would have to pack my things up completely, say goodbye to Philly and all the wonderful people i have had the pleasure of being with for the last 13 weeks, and within the next week.. be on a plane to Atlanta, Georgia to a training camp with a bunch of beautiful souls that I have yet to meet other than a quick conversation on Facebook.

SO a co-worker of mine.. had reached out to me and sent me a video..

🙂 So i watched it and it instantly brought me peace about my current situation and plans for The World Race.. I headed off to work and found her quickly the next morning. She told me about a 3 day fast she was doing.. So i instantly decided it’s what I needed.. She took me into the chapel at work and began to pray for me (it was AMAZING).. So i spent the three days.. phone-less and food-less.. I spent time with God, just me and him in prayer. I still feel as though it should’ve been more… BUT..

I woke up this morning.. and as I turned on my phone let me tell you what happened..

1. I received sweet texts from a few of the people in my heart that make my day, everyday.

2. Three different calls for jobs in the dallas, TX area.. (which is what i’ve been praying for)

3. A call from my brother telling me it’s time for him to kick his bad habit..

4. A call from my best friend letting me know that her family is going to be just fine.

AND…

5. An AMAZING donation of 950 dollars from a special woman so dear to my heart… I met her 13 short weeks ago.. and she’s become one of my best friends!

THESE things happened to me today.. after a 3 day fast.. DON’T anyone tell me that if you spend time with the Lord that he won’t grant you all the desires of your heart.. BECAUSE… HE will.

I spent 3 days with him.. and these 5 things happened to me.. in a matter of 24 HOURS… GOD is good…

So think long and hard about the things that make your heart beat faster.. Try spending a little time with him. He might just change your mind 🙂

LOVE YOU GUYS! <3
