So I just want to start this blog off and thank EVERYONE that has been supporting me on this journey so far. Whether it be prayerfully, financially, or mentally.. I am forever grateful!!
I wanted to update everyone on what is happening here in Thailand! We got here on Feb 4 after a flight to Bangkok and a 12 hour bus ride. We are staying with an amazing woman of God (Pi Emmi) at a cafe in Chiang Mai! She started this ministry back in 2008 and has invited women who need a second chance to work in her cafe. She has had many mission teams coming in to work alongside her in spreading the good word! It is amazing what God is doing here!
Our first week here my team and I were in charge of doing bar ministry.
We did prayer walks in the morning, spent time in the bars during the day, and did intercession at night to pray for the people that we’re going out to the bars at night to build relationships with the women. It sounds like a schedule full of ministering and love and it is, but it is SO much more than that!
So I want you to close your eyes.
Imagine you are a mother. You have a beautiful young daughter. You are poor. You have to sell your daughter because she is going to be your source of income. You have to let go of one of the things you love the most because that is how you are going to “survive”.
Now fast forward, imagine you are that girl. Selling your body to a man that doesn’t even know your name. You are doing it because you are helping your family “survive”. That is your job and that is what you think is going to be your life.
Now imagine you are the man buying this woman. You are lost. You are searching for the thing that will makes you whole. You desire love but are going about it in all of the wrong ways. You are broken.
Now picture someone coming into your life one day. They tell you that you can be free from ALL of that. That this life doesn’t have to be your life because it never was meant to be in the first place. Maybe you think their crazy, maybe not. Maybe you want to know more, maybe not. But maybe, just maybe, that will become a journey to a new life. The life you deserve. The life Jesus Christ died to save you from!
It’s not a revelation that happens instantly and for some of us, we probably won’t see an immediate response but I feel like God put us here to continue the movement. He put us here to show people, through even the smallest actions of love, that life is more and that they are ENOUGH!
I’ve realized I could have just as easily been that mother or that daughter but I wasn’t. God saved us from having that struggle and in turn he expects us to take action. God is using me and most of all, he is using you! I would not be here right now without all the support and love from everyone. So you are just as much, if not way more responsible for all of the awesome things that are happening here!
We will be here until the end of February and will be headed to Cambodia next.I will be updating you all as much as I can!! Again, thank you for being on this journey with me!! Love yall 🙂
Xoxo
