As I sat before the Lord in the cool morning beneath the covering of a mango orchard I prayed and listened.

This was nothing new. I remember many times sitting before the Lord over the last few years. Whether it was on the zipline platform or down by the lake at camp, a city park or my parents backyard, the prayer chapel at college or even just pulling off the side of the road to admire a view. This time it just happened to be in a mango orchard on a ranch outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

My squad of 23 racers had come to this ranch for our training camp, a time to bond as a squad while also reflecting on our own hearts and allowing God to speak to us, heal us, transform us and minister to us as we prepared to minister to others. We were blessed with wonderful teachers and leaders who loved and challenged us. We were served by 3 wonderful gals who had just completed their World Race and came to love on us and share their stories with us.

To go in to details about all that we learned and experienced at training camp would take more words than I have time to write.

However, as I sat there underneath the orchard that morning I looked around me and saw my fellow racers all sitting before God and I heard Him say “This is beautiful.”

Entire squad when we first arrived at training camp with our packs ready to go.
