We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting…
· To see and experience things that completely rip my heart apart.
· To learn how to pray with earnestness and understand the heart of God more.
· To miss my family so much that it physically hurts
· To become family with those around me
· To crave the familiar and want American food so bad that I want to scream
· To have brand new experiences and acquire a taste for something that I would otherwise never eat.
· To begin the race thinking that I know what I am doing and want to use familiar ministry “tactics”
· To be empty of any former idea, live by the Holy Spirit in the moment and be used by God in unbelievable ways!
· To never be the same again and to become more and more passionate for the things of God – and grow in my love of other cultures.
· To learn at least a phrase in the native language of each country I go to.
· To learn 11 new dances and to make my non-dancing teammates love to dance!
· And so much more…
