Dear Family and Friends,
Come September of 2015 I will be embarking on a nine month adventure to Guatemala, Malaysia, and Botswana. I have been called to this mission by the authority of Jesus Christ, but while on the field I will be under the operation of a program called The World Race. The World Race is a Christian Missions program that is operated through one of the largest Christian Mission Agencies in the world, Adventures in Missions. I will be participating in The World Race Gap Year, which involves me spending nine months in three very diverse regions of the world: three months in Guatemala, three months in Malaysia, and three months in Botswana.
In Guatemala today nearly 51% of the population lives below the national poverty line and 13% of the population lives in extreme poverty. The overall enrollment rate of children into a primary school is 39%, while in cities such as Verapaz only 20% of children receive an education. In Malaysia nearly 60.4% of the population is Muslim, with only 9.1% of the population identify themselves as Christians. Malaysia also serves as a major hub for human trafficking of women, child, and men in Southeast Asia. Botswana has the third highest HIV/AIDS infection rate in the world. Nearly 23% of the population is infected with HIV/AIDS, which allots to nearly every one in four adults being infected.
With your support I will be able to educate and teach children in Guatemala that would otherwise never receive an education. I will be able to serve food to the poor and build houses for the homeless. I will be able to minister and preach The Gospel to the people of Malaysia through community outreaches and street ministry. I will be able to bring freedom and hope to trafficked women, children, and men. I will be able to plant churches and work in orphanages with children that have no parents due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Botswana. Above all I will be able to share The Gospel in ways that at this moment I cannot even fathom.
In the next five months I need to raise exactly $12, 491. This money covers every expense throughout my trip such as travel, food, insurance, and housing. My first financial deadline is on May 20th, in the amount of $6,000. My second deadline is June 30th, in the amount of $9,000. My last and final deadline is August 19th, in the paid full amount of $12,491.
I have the lofty goal of being fully funded come my first deadline, but I believe the Lord provides in all situations. When praying over my fundraising the Lord gave me the view that all I need is 124 people to support me with $100.
