Hey y’all! Today is January 15th which means two things. First it means I am officially halfway through my race. That’s right 4 and a half months left! THATS INSANE! Second, it also happens to be the deadline for fundraising. You all have been SOOO amazing in helping me reach my goal within the first month and I can’t thank God enough for you. I’m so thankful for all of the prayers from each one of you, especially now that I have a greater understanding of prayer. I’ve learned so much and it’s changed my life in how I pray for others, the way I do ministry, shoot, even the way I’m learning to live my life! I’m not really sure where this blog is going but I guess I just wanted to reach out and express all the thankfulness that I have for you all.
Fundraising – an area where you have showed up without a doubt. I’m so blessed that I’m able to say that! It’s definitely something that felt totally unnatural and uncomfortable (or as my squad says “uncomfy”) doing. This is such an unnatural feeling I mean.. I was asking people for money. Something that God has also showed me is that it’s good to serve in the church but also to be served by the church. Being able to be supported by you even in the littlest ways, has brought me so much humility which has been super awesome!
Prayer – a form of support that I never used to see or understand the weight of. Knowing that you are praying for me on the daily… again, brings me so much humility, love, worth, and just an all around gratitude that I’ve not been able to appreciate before nor really chosen to. Prayer has been changing my life and my faith over these last 4 and a half months; one example of this is the miracles I have witnessed while on the race. I’ve always believed in miracles but there’s just something different when they happen right in front of you. This is EXACTLY what is happening when we get to talk with our Heavenly Father through prayer. The fact that our creator, who is also the creator of the universe is not only able to talk to us but really genuinely wants to engage in conversation with us! Then He says something in return! Like what?!? That is without a doubt the coolest miracle that we as Christians so easily take for granted! I am beyond thankful that God talks to us and has used me in ministry many times to talk to the people here; this really has just left me speechless. So thank you, thank you, thank you so much for all the prayer and for continuing to pray for me in the future.
Comments on the blogs – these are so cool to be able to read and are really encouraging. They’re just such a small yet significant part of my day that I get to enjoy so much and that bring me so much love. They show me that I really do you have worth in all of your eyes and that my story does matter and is getting to have an impact back home. Basically what I’m trying to say is that I have the coolest supporters, haha!
So yeah I guess this was more of a gratitude blog for you guys! So just a recap, thanks for helping me get here because you have had such a huge piece of getting me here.
