Hey Everyone! Just wanted to reach out to you guys since I haven’t in awhile.

I’ve been in Guatemala for about a month now and have been loving it. So much!!!

Let’s think, what’s new…

  • The suns out everyday. I found out that it gets super hot in the day because I got a crazy bad sunburn the first week and I found out that it also gets super cold at night because I tried to sleep in my hammock on the first night and froze to death
  • I’m eating WAY less carbs
  • We ride Public Transportation everywhere (we call them chicken buses) which is INSANE! Their motto is ‘there’s always room for one more’. Fun fact: One time they put 30 people in a 12 passenger van
  • WE HAVE GRASS!
  • Sleeping in tents in the yard a couple nights for really no reason
  • Gods presence is very much here
  • Food is amazing!
  • We’re working with the base here and building relationships through (drum roll)… SPORTS MINISTRY, with the small villages around us instead of evangelism everyday
  • The base we’re staying at is in the middle of two cities so we’re sounded by land and our only neighbors are the police
  • We’ve gotten much closer as a squad and these people are my family and I love them all so much. The holidays were hard but bearable because we had/have each other.
  • Sometimes we play squad kickball in the yard! (One of my personal favs)
  • I got a haircut which entailed me telling the barber to surprise me. Sure enough he did. My man Peter cut it ALL off.
  • We’ve all grown immensely and it’s sooo noticeable in each other.
  • Kyle thought up an idea to shoot a fictional action movie that he would direct and the cast consists of the whole guys team (Kyle, Nathan and I), Taylor our squad leader (aka Tay, Tay-tay or tank-top-Tay), Gel, Mackenzie and probably more I’m not sure, I end up dying in the first 2 mins.
  • Making and eating 14 pancakes, 9 eggs and a bowl full of plantains on an off day with Nathan
  • Washing laundry by hand

Other than that though, it’s pretty much the same.

I couldn’t thank God more for bringing me here. The staffs goal over them time we’re here is to push us and they’ve done a good job though the first month!

I’m currently praying that God would keep me uncomfortable and hungry. What that looks like is this: I don’t want to get comfortable with the growth that I’ve already seen in myself throughout the first 4 months because I want to strive for more growth and want to stay hungry and get even more hungry for Him so I won’t stop growing. He’s such a HUGE God and I want more!

Thanks so much for reading! It wasn’t super proper but at least I got one out.

God bless!
