Training camp has been awesome! Its definitely going to be hard to explain how much I have learned in such a short period but, her it goes. I have learned so much about others/people in the last 10 days from the greatest of moments and events! I have learned that not only does God love all of us but he has a divine specific plan for each and every one of us. Our ministry does not just start and stop on Sunday or end when we are tired. I have had the opportunity to see Gods work in 99 of us that are called into the field to share the truth in Jesus name! Each and every heart that was at camp has such a desire to serve the kingdom and help the lost find there way home. God has used training camp in such mighty ways not only for us entering the race but also those who served us. There is 3 squads N,O,P I’m on N squad there is 25 of us on the squad and we are broken into teams of 6 and 7. our name is team LIT (bringing the light into the darkest of places with passion and authority in the name of Jesus Christ).
We as children in the kingdom get the opportunity to serve others at all times in any situation. While I had one day that in particularly has given me a new perspective about how perfect our god is and always has been, The truth is that God can and will direct our path as long as we seek to listen to his calling in our life. The hard part about being lead by the spirit is that sometimes we can feel the judgment of others and fall into the victim mindset witch leads aways from our calling and into fear! fear of rejection, neglect, no control, lack of self worth, but God is good! He will not stand on the sidelines and wait for us to make moves, we have a choice each day to see the blessing he is trying over and over to show us. it becomes a choice what we want to see in our lives. Its a matter of changing our lens(perspective) that we see life through and seek the truth about who we are and what we stand for!
When we choose to become self less and focused on who we are in Christ then we are able to see the beautiy and know God is with us and laugh at the fear of rejection or the miss conception of reality or the feeling of emptiness for we become filled with overflowing joy. while we make choices throughout our days God is with us and the Holy spirit works in us and through us to show others that they are not alone in this broken world. Truth is I have found far more joy in my brokenness than I can ever ever explain, while I was focused on imperfections God was focused on showing me the truth about how perfect Daniel Sperry really is! This is not about perfection in the flesh or at everything we do, but rather the perfect made Daniel Sperry in the eyes of our creator.
In training camp God has shown me the true value of the kingdom and the love that he has for broken people that just need a little bit of community to support and give them freedom to be who they are in the eyes of our creator. God is the center of training camp and the worship was so amazing. I was able to truly let my heart free before the lord and sing from the depths of my pain. I found the depths of stillness and wholeness in Christ as we sang from the heart and poured out all the things that were not of the lord, letting our father have us for all that we are. the true vision of love is unity and when we worship with our full heart the words stop mattering and the room sits still in the presence of our great father.
Through training camp we had what they call field sinarios. the sinarios varied from a simulated lost bag at the airport to community living and also a market simulation that was such a blast. The one thing that all of the sinarios had in common was that they are designed to create problematic sinarios within the team in order to create team unity, and feedback within the teams. In training camp we were able to learn a lot more about the direction and plan that adventure and missions/the world race is focused on. God has used the training camp to better direct each of us and join us all in unity for the growth of His kingdom.
Community is a huge part of the world race and it is amazing what God can do when we have to lean on those around us for help. This day and age drives us to be very independent and the problem with this is that we cant do life alone we need people around us to uplift us, hold us when we are broken and love us when we do not deserve it. The community is so needed and as Jesus loved us we are to love those around us and not live in the shadows of our imperfections.
The reason that I have joined the world race is very simple! I have been called to serve the kingdom in ways I do not understand but through faith I choose to walk into the fullness of what God has for my life. Im going to be packing in a 70 liter backpack that will hold my life for the next 11 months. In my pack will be:
