Hi everyone. I wanted to just write a light hearted fun blog this time. I’m still in Cypress currently and Man-istry is now officially over. We just joined the girls of our team the Joy Riders a couple days ago at their location. We are also living with the girls of team Shalom and four of our amazing squad leaders. This place where we are staying until next Thursday is the studio of a Christian radio podcast that broadcasts the Gospel to people in the unreached country of Yemen. Our host is very kind to let us stay here and provide opportunities for us to partner in the local community. Yesterday, for example I got to join a few of the girls and work in a second-hand store that also gives foods to refugees living in the area. Today, is a much needed Halloween rest day. Tonight we are dressing up as animated characters and doing Halloween activities that aren’t trick or treating. Below are fun pictures I took of everyone today living in the house pre-costume and some words about who they are.
Tyler
This dude is awesome. He just got a new tattoo, and he loves to share free cake and fistbumps. We all love Tyler slot because he carries a ton of wisdom and joy.
Charles
“Charles Unbuttoned” launched this morning. He also just got a new tattoo and is awesome. Here he is pictured drawing something. We were drawing stuff together this morning. He’s very good at it. Baller even.
Allison
Allison is pretty baller. She is also great at guitar and has a dope voice. A very talented woman here. She is now 23. She got some new Jibits for her Crocs. She wears Crocs.
Breanna
Bre is the now officially the youngest person on our Squad since Allison just had her birthday she’s the only 22 year old left. Also, she’s the only other one on my team without a tattoo.
Amber
Amber beat me today in multiple games of ‘Around the World’, she’s a mean cook, and she has been killing the podcast game lately!
She is certainly a favorite.
Hadassah
We had a really good breakfast talk this morning. Hadassah is one of my fellow early risers and if you ever want good company and an honest voice to speak into your life… buy her a coffee.
Solomon
Solo! My fellow Georgian. Lately, we’ve gotten to skateboard together and it’s been really life giving. This man is a great example of manhood and walks out fatherly love.
Eric
This man has so much wisdom and talent. He is filled with the Holy Spirit and shares all he has so freely. It’s super awesome to have the privilege of living with him and gleaning from him.
Alysa
She is so funny. We are costume partners, and she’s made me laugh a lot. Also, she is super wise, and likes to talk about creative food experiments. The Lord is very evident with this one.
Laura
She’s been with us from the beginning! OG squad leader here. Literally any questions I’ve had about the world race before coming on the field were answered by her. Now, she answers a ton of my other random questions with love. Also, she’s Moana.
Beth
This girl is very sweet. She’s the first mentioned here from team Shalom. She taught me how to surf, and play “Cut Throat Mafia”. She brings a ton of unity to this house in bringing us all together for activities it’s awesome.
Brish
Brish is a fierce lover of the Lord, and a really good cook. The other day she cooked breakfast casseroles for everyone here on World Race budget! She also mentioned making 7up biscuits one day so I’m holding out for that. (Love can be communicated through food. Just sayin!)
Val
Val is super fun y’all. She’s another one from the West coast. We are in the process of teaching her the art of sweet tea. Among other things she’s my worship coordinator partner for M Squad.
Emily
Emily has killed everyone twice in games of “Cut Throat Mafia”. She’s filled with the Holy Spirit and always has a new God story to tell you. She is also a really good cook, and very athletic. She loves our squad super well!
Casey
She’s one of our alumni team leaders, and she is currently the leader for team Shalom. It’s her birthday, and we are going to make her some Nashvillian Southern food. She’s super awesome and laughs at my jokes. She loves the Lord and people super well.
Taylor
She’s better at Google than maybe anyone I’ve met. She finds all kinda cool stuff there. She found me a PDF one time of “The Weight of Glory” a sermon by C.S. Lewis. She’s super fun and a wonderful conversationalist with a servants heart.
Austin
Last but not least (you know, like the Kingdom) is Austin. She’s got a PR background and she’s from Memphis so we get along in our southerness and educational background. She loves musicals and quotes them a lot. She basically planned our night of costumes and fun. So, whoo hoo! (That’s actually said with genuine excitement.)
