South Africa is awesome. I love my team. They are soooooo flipping cool! I have so many things I want to talk about that happened leading up to being here in the three weeks prior to landing here on African soil. God has really lit my heart on fire for Him and His Kingdom come. However, I feel strongly that for now, another simple update is in order 🙂
Here’s a little introduction to the awesome people aka “Kindle” I’m gonna be working with for the next 3 months!

Left to Right:
We have me, Jeff, Breanne, Jamie, Daniel M, and Kearstin.
These people love Jesus and are hungry for Him and to see more of His Kingdom come to the world we interact with and the hearts of the people we meet. Each has a different story and we are learning each other’s. We are fun, and and driven. We are here to start a HOLY FIRE!
Boom. You’ve been introduced.
Ok, this month we are working with an organization called Impact Africa here in Johannesburg. They are doing all kinds of cool Kingdom work to bring Kingdom to the many nations and people groups that gather near Joberg in townships. Townships for those that don’t know are pop up communities throughout this country full of people who come for work. Many living in townships are from other nations and they can be pretty poverty stricken, and overpopulated. This month we are going in to meet people, meet needs, and share the Gospel. I’m expectant for miracles this month, and for our team to attain new measures together of whatever the Father has for us. He’s been really good to place us here in an environment with structure that walks in step with the Spirit to advance the Kingdom of God.
Yesterday we had our first little taste of ministry in the local Township where we will focus our time. We put on a kids program. I was sat on by children and bouncing them on my knee the majority of the time, and I got to give a couple really well behaved children a prize.

Jabulani Kids Program
I was reminded of my time serving in Waumba Land at my church back in Woodstock. We did kids worship and taught the kids a Bible Verse:
1 John 5:20 ESV
“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”
We are here with 3 other teams. One team also has an Alumni team leader from my previous race Joelle! Another exciting thing is that within the other three teams there are some more guys! Male bonding is really important in the life of a Christian Man. With only 2 other guys on my last squad, and the last 2 months of my Race being on an all girls team, I gotta say I’m pretty pumped to have 5 other dudes (not including Impact Staff) to do life with this month! Today we did “Mantivities” in our free time! So fun!

One Mantivitie: The men posing after washing a car with Efra an Impact Staff Intern who is just as much one of us. Pictured in addition to the Kindle guys L to R are Bowen, Austin, and Jeeves.
Other than that we’ve been adjusting to the long travel time from America to Africa, we’ve gone to the Apartheid museum, and been trained by Impact for the ministry we will do this month. All good things. We are staying at a beautiful host home for the month. It doesn’t have wifi, and I’m good with that. There are board games, a pool, and plenty of room to bond in this first month during our off time.
I hope my update finds you all well back at home or wherever you are. God has been so good to bring me here. I’m halfway funded for my three months serving in this role as an alumni team leader. It’s been so cool to pour into my team. I love them a lot. I hope that you are blessed by my post. If you’d like to partner with us to spread kingdom wherever we go I’d encourage you to pray or give financially to any of us here on X Squad that aren’t yet fully funded. Maybe your thinking about going out yourself to serve? I’d love to talk about that with you too. I welcome dialogue 🙂 love y’all.
– Daniel
