When someone washes your feet
And you realize you’re not worthy
And you have physical dirt from walking through the streets all day
And it doesn’t matter to that person
They see past the dirt
They speak life into you
They look you in the eyes as their bare hands scrub the dirt off your dry, mosquito bitten, cracked heels, unpolished feet
They don’t hesitate
They don’t flinch
They don’t know where your feet have been
(In this culture, that could be anywhere from walking through pee to peeing on your foot trying to use a squatty)
They don’t care
They do it out of love
Out of humility
Out of a desire to serve the ones who should be serving them
This is love
This is the gospel
This is when you realize just how insignificant you are
Yet how seen you are and how known You are
God sees us all
God washes our feet daily
He sees us
He knows us
You are important to Him
Stop for a minute and let Him wash your feet
