Hey everyone! I’m here to share with you all about the ministry that my team and I have been serving in over these past two months while in northeast India! Days often varied, but there were a few ministries that we alternated between.

Church Construction:
Being the church while building the church! There are so many churches that surround us and a few of our local churches have been building and expanding their chapels. We have had the opportunity to be apart of this building process. This often looked like moving hundreds and thousands of bricks from one part of the church to the next. We also moved sand, cleaned sand, cleaned bricks, and a few other simple tasks. These days were often spent all squad, meaning that all 50ish worked together on these days. It was a really special thing to unite together as one church body, while we built up a literal church!

One Day Bible Clubs:
Every Saturday we go to a different village with a few teams and we put on a one day vbs for the children of that village. We do hand motion songs, bible stories/skits like noah and the ark, and running around playing all the games with them. These days were always such a blast because the kids just had so much joy and energy and it was so fun to lead them in this. Boys and girls from 3-18 would come– one of my favorite parts of these days was spending time with the older girls and getting to know them better. They were often very shy at first, but we could eventually get them to come out of their shell and see their awesome personalities come out. I’m going to miss spending Saturdays like this every week!

Agape Care Center:
A Christian rehab center for drug/alcohol recovery. This ministry looked like spending time with the men here– worshipping, sharing testimonies, getting to know them better, and playing the most intense games of volleyball and carom board! It was so amazing to spend time with them and to see how they are turning to Christ to help them in this time of recovery. These days were full of so much joy and laughter, I will miss them most.

Schools/Teaching:
We got the opportunity to go to a few of the different schools around our area and teach kids from kindergarten to 3rd grade in subjects like social studies and english, and just play with the crazy little ones! One of the days my team and I were helping with the 2-3 year olds who were coming to their first day of school, aka the first time that many of them had to be separated from their parents in a strange new place… the kids were crazy! Most were sobbing their eyes out, surrounding the door, and even climbing up the windows trying to get out of the classroom. I think I had three or four kids who didn’t cry and just played with blocks and made friends with each other, one of the funniest and craziest days of ministry I had in India.

Kitchen Duty:
About once a week our team was assigned to kitchen duty. We washed dishes for our squad and helped the amazing cooks who serve us to prepare food for breakfast and dinner. These days were so much fun spending time as a team!

These were the main ministries we were involved in here in the past two months. I’m so grateful for the many different ways we got to serve the community around us during this time, I will miss these ministry days so much!

Thank you so much for reading and supporting this journey! It’s been 6 months now on this trip and I’ve only got a few months left. I wouldn’t be able to serve and have these amazing experiences if it wasn’t for all of you supporting me back home, so truly thank you!!
