I’ve been in Swaziland for a week now. On Sunday we walked 20 minuets to church and the Swazi church was definitely different than what I’m used to but it’s been my favorite church since being on the race. We walk up with little kids running to us, wanted us to hold them. We walk in to a Swazi woman singing so powerfully to God and during worship they encourage you to dance along to the songs and the little kids will dance with you too. At one point a little girl maybe 6 years old went on stage to sing with the cutest little voice, which made some people cry. God can use any age to reach people that is for certain. The people called us up to the front to introduce ourselves than the sermon started and one of the little girl wanted to sit on my lap during it which I was overwhelmed with joy. We started ministry this week and the first day we walked to our care point where we got to play with little children the whole day. To just go there and hug, them, play and love on them shows Jesus to them, the kids might not get a hug or love back home, so for us to come and be with them fills them with joy and laughter. Some days also looks like staying at the base and painting the building and other days it’s sitting with some of the woman in the village hearing their stories, worshipping with them, stirring maze milk in a bucket for a long time, cutting grass and putting the grass into a bag to carry back for a funeral for a little girl that died a couple days before we knew our ministry site. We talked to the girls dad and gave him encouragement and we learned that he is a man of peace. Please pray for the father and all of the people who loved this little girl. We also got to hold a little 3 month year old baby and some of the women gave each of us Swazi names. My Swazi name is Mbali which means beautiful flower. Day to day looks different and day to day I get to see different sides of Jesus in people. Day to day I love this place more.
