As training camp and the mission trip are soon approaching, I have been feeling a mixure of both excitement and anxiety. I can‘t wait till I meet my wonderful squad family. We have helped each other with advice in what gear we should get and in prayer for one another. To spend nine months with them will be a blessing in so many ways. There is  anxiety that comes with going on the mission trip as well. For me it’s a giant step to take: leaving my home, family, and friends to go across the sea for nine months and live off my backpack when I never left the country before, been away for more than a week from my family, and never been camping. But I know that God has called me to go and so I need to trust without borders. I like this one quote by Rick Yanncey  “God doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the called“ I may not have the skills, but I have a passion to help others which is a blessing. I don’t want to pass on this amazing opportunity because of fear. The trip will be difficult yes, but to grow spiritually in my faith and share God’s word with others is greater than the challenges that will arise.
