Since we left Jaco, it’s been quite an adventure!

After the first 3 miles, we stopped to send an email to our mentor, but that wasn’t all the Lord had planned.

Laura gave her life to Jesus.
Referring to a life led by Christ, she said
“I want that!”

She filled our water bottles for free and off we went.

When we stopped and sat down for lunch, the soreness started to set in.

I didn’t think I could walk for one more minute…

Then it started to rain and there we were at the base of a 2 mile stretch of an incline.

That easily was the hardest 2 miles out of all 13.7…

My left foot at the base of my big toe started to hurt at every step. I knew it was from always wearing shoes that were a little too small.

Over the years, my feet began to conform to shoes that were too small.

As we were walking, I started to pray that my foot would stop hurting and actually straighten back out to it’s original structure.

I heard the Lord say “do not conform to the box you’re put in.”

You see, when we conform to something that doesn’t fit us, it causes pain that the Lord never intend us to have.

In this case it was something as ridiculous as wearing a shoe that doesn’t fit… but it can be much more than that.

It can be taking a job that doesn’t fit you.

It can be becoming someone you’re not because it’s “trendy”.

It can be conforming to the people around you even when you disagree with what they’re doing.

All of these things leave us in pain in some way or another… be confident that Jesus never intended that for you.

He never intended for you to be put in a box that was too small for the gifts, talents, and abilities He gave you.

“…The joy of the Lord is your strength”- Nehemiah 8:10
