Meet my NEW TEAM!!!

Mel, Kristi, Kelsey, and Jess

Since being in Botswana together, my new team has quickly created an atmosphere of sisterhood, lots of laughs, vulnerability, safety, and empowering one another.

When I found out I was chosen to be a new team leader, our mentor had already created names for the new teams. After moving people around and talking with our leaders trying to decide who would be on what team, she began praying over each new team. For my team, the Lord gave her the Hebrew word TEHOM.

TEHOM: Great deep, existing for all time.

“When I think of team Tehom, I think of the very beginning of a Genesis when the Spirit of God is hovering over the waters. It’s that moment– right before the creation of the whole world as we know it. Each of you women are like that water; before the Lord spoke, you were without form, void and dark. But when he spoke, he brought LIGHT and LIFE. That was just the very beginning! Out of that formerly void depth, he brought land and plants and animals and all sorts of wonderful beautiful LIFE! When we remember that in the beginning God created our world by pulling it up out of the deep water, the ocean becomes a symbol of His overwhelming, wide, long, high and deep love! All of that land and all those animals were hidden under the water… just waiting to be pulled out. Just as the Spirit of God hovered over the water, you’ll meet men and women everywhere who are still formless, void and dark, just waiting for someone to speak LIGHT and LIFE over them, and pull out the beauty that’s hidden down deep in them. You are that voice. You’ll reach down deep, and draw out people’s potential from within. You’ll know the depth of God’s love first for yourselves, and then share that deep love with others. And you’ll make a deep impact that, in the name of Jesus, will exist for all of time- beyond even your own lifetime! Each of you carries the Spirit of God and that deep love inside of you!”

The Lord is so intentional when placing us with specific people for certain times in our lives. My first team was exactly what I needed in the beginning of the race. What I needed for this new season was to feel like I’m at home.. while still being thousands of miles from my physical home. That’s what He gave me. So here’s to finding out what’s in the “great deep” for our team!
