Wow, we made it!
After 46 hours of travel, my team and I finally made it to Mzuzu, Malawi!
Malawi is considered to be the place of peace, and the heart of Africa.
That’s a comforting thing to come into after being in a place where communism and darkness still linger.
Africa is a very spiritual continent, so people are more open to receiving the Good News, praise the Lord!
This month, we will consistently be doing several different things each day. In the mornings, we will all be teaching kindergarten and primary school. In the afternoons, we will be doing door-to-door evangelism (something that I really want to grow in) and house visits, along with women’s ministry, and youth/ young adult ministry. Also, we will have intentional times of intercession for the nation, the leaders, the church and its people, and many other areas.
It rains here everyday, usually in the morning, so, I’m very thankful that we have an indoor place to stay. Our room is connected to the church, and we have our tents set up in the room.. due to a couple leaks in the roof, a rain-fly for our tent is still necessary. The rest of the day is BEAUTIFUL!
Every other day, Mzuzu experiences anywhere from 18-24 hours of no electricity. This is due to the country only being able to generate 1/2 the amount of electricity that it needs, so they have to portion it out. Oddly, I actually kind of love it!
That being said, access to Wi-Fi this month will be much different than it has been the past two months. We will only be able to get it once a week, on our off day, IF there is electricity. I will keep you updated as often as possible, but I’m actually excited to sort of “disconnect” from the outside world for a little while. I think it will leave more space for Jesus to fill, conversations to happen, and friendships to be made.
Once again, THANK YOU so much for your support. There are times when I’m sitting in the back of a truck, or under a tree, and I think to myself “ How did I get so blessed to be here?”
I have 8 weeks to become fully funded. I’m only $4,000 away from my end goal. If you would prayerfully consider supporting me at $50 a month or $100 total, it would allow me to continue on the WorldRace until the end.
God Bless!!!!
