CHANGE OF PLANS!
During the middle of this past month, our leadership announced that moving into month 9, we would be having team changes.
The morning of the day we found out, laying in my bed I said, “I feel like we’re having team changes next month.”
Sure enough.
With this news came lots of emotions for everybody: excitement, frustration, sadness, contentment…
I felt content, with a little bit of excitement.
I felt like the Lord had been preparing my heart not only for the change, but preparing my heart to move to a new level of trust.
Trust in my squad and trust in the Lord himself, but for this time specifically, complete trust in the leadership above me. I had complete trust that they were hearing from the Lord correctly, and to be honest, I was frustrated with my squad mates who weren‘t feeling the same way as me.
Fast forward a few days…
We found out that due to political unrest in Nicaragua, the government needed to know exactly who was on what team, and who would be where in the country. So, with safety in mind, the decision was made to stay in the current teams for month 9 in Nicaragua because new teams were not in place yet.
Once again, I’m content with with a little excitement. I get to really dive in intentionally with the four women I’ve been with since month 5, for our last month together!
A couple days later…
We are told that we will be getting six new additions to the squad for month 9 in Nicaragua! It’s called Exposure; young adults are given the opportunity to join a squad on the field for one month to see if the Race is something they would like to do in the future. Each team will be getting two girls and we are super excited to show them what the race is about!
B Squad has all been together in the capital of Malaysia for several days having our month 8 debrief. This debrief feels different than any other. In a really really awesome way.
All week we’ve been talking about how the squad is stepping into a new season, a season of authority. Pretty much everything leadership knows about the last three months has been revealed to the entire squad. I won’t go into detail in this post, but get ready.. big things are coming!
So today’s the day we leave Asia and fly to Central America to embark on the beginning of the last part of our journey.
Today’s the day we re-live, because we touch American soil and travel back in time 13 hours (we have a layover in Chicago)!!!
This morning we met for a safety briefing on Nicaragua… except it wasn’t that.
Our plane tickets have been cancelled by the Nicaraguan government. We aren’t allowed to enter the country due to everything that’s going on there. So, we will be going to Panama this month!
My point is this:
There’s a reason the Lord brought about team changes in the first place— to see if we trusted Him even if it was against what most people wanted.
There’s a reason the Lord did a quick cancellation on said team changes— to get our attention, to see if we were listening to Him.
We were never going to Nicaragua..since the beginning of time was created, it was never His plan.
I’m confident there’s something awesome waiting for us in Panama and Central America as a whole.
We’ve spent 8 months preparing for this season we’re entering into. We were made for such a time as this. We’re prepared, we’re ready to do, ready to receive. We’re listening, we’re awake and he has our full attention.
“Taking her by the hand he said to her, “little girl I say to you, arise.” Mark 5:41
B Squad is rising up.
