Last month in Zimbabwe, my team and I were placed at the Sandra Jones Center in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Here’s an inside look at daily life at the center. I’ll post more details about the glorious things the Lord did in our time there in a future blog, but for now, enjoy this rundown of our life this September.
A Day in the Life: Sandra Jones Center
45 – Wake up
00 – Breakfast, prayer over the girls at my table before they go to school
00 – Lead morning devotional with the oldest girls
00 – “Quiet” time
00 – Head outside to play with the little nugs
30 – TEA TIME!
00 – Back outside to play
00 – Lunch time (make sure to be there first so you don’t end up with a huge mound of sudza on your plate)
00 – Beauty for Ashes time with the older girls, or time to help them with their vocational skills class tasks
00 – Back outside with all of the kids as they all get back from school
00 – Dinner time, help clean dishes
00 – Yoga class with Caitlin
30 – Team time (with periodic interruptions of knock, knock, knock, “Aunteys?” I just wanted to say good night)
30 – Harry Potter story time with AnnaGrace
30 – Nighty, night!
This ministry was amazing, and difficult all at once. It was by far one of my favorite placements on the race. Please join me in continued prayers for the girls at the SJC.
