I know I am here for a reason however until recently I couldn’t help but wonder why me? I have been questioning God, asking him why these nations live this way and what does he think I can do to help, why did he bring ME here? I do not feel worthy; what do I have to offer these people; how am I supposed to be the hands and feet of Jesus? How do I find the words to say to help people who I cannot relate to? How am I supposed to glorify the Lord? What if I ruin the one chance these people have to hear about Jesus and his great love?

I looked down at my wrist and read a bracelet from my mom, “JESUS IS THE REASON.” I realized that since I have been here I have been focusing on me, when I am not the reason at all, HE is! I have been doing a lot of reading and reflecting and have discovered the answers to my questions have been right in front of me.

God creates, blesses and saves each of us for a radically global purpose. He loves me and has blessed me so that I might make him, his ways, his salvation, his glory and his greatness known to all nations (David Platt). God’s gift of grace involves laying down my life to receive the gift of a new heart, new desires, new longings and for the first time truly want God. It involves releasing control and seeing our great NEED for him, and loving him like never before. It involves not only seeking him but finding him and discovering that he is indeed the great reward of our salvation.

Jesus’ final command was make disciples of all nations, “I have given you people, Live for them. Love them. Serve them. Lead them. Lead them to lead others to follow me. In this process you will multiply the gospels to the end of the earth.” So it is up to us to multiply the people who enjoy God’s grace and extend his glory around the world.

How am I supposed to make disciples of the nations? The truth is I do not have to nor can I do it but the good news is HE will! “Do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” Matthew 10:19-20. In Joshua 5-6 God shows how HE puts HIS people in positions where they are desperate for his power then HE shows HIS provision in ways that display HIS greatness! It has nothing to do with me but has everything to do with him!

Next time you think you are not worthy or have nothing to offer, remember you are not alone and with God anything is possible!
