Dear family and friends,
Greetings! I pray that all is well for you and your families! I want to share with you something exciting going on in my life. During my last semester of college, I performed an internship at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Parker Colorado. I had the incredible opportunity to develop an Emergency Preparedness training system for the hospital’s 1,200 employees and to create a health and wellness program. My internship was an incredible learning experience and time of personal growth. However, the most important thing I learned from the experience was that it was not the job for me, at least not yet. I learned how much I want to have an impact on people’s lives, especially on those in need. I want to truly make a difference. To do that, I need to go where it is not easy to go. After many months of the complex application process, I was accepted to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer after graduating college. However, I recently discovered that God has a different plan for me.
God has presented me with the most exciting and challenging opportunity of my life thus far. Starting in January 2014, I will be serving as a missionary through the Adventure in Missions organization in the World Race program. The World Race is an 11- month mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. During these 11-months, my team and I will be traveling to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, China, Thailand, Cambodia, India, and Nepal. Through personal and spiritual growth, adventure, ministry, and community, World Racers help restore hope to broken hearts around the world and propel their hands to succeed through God’s love. My World Race team and I will be backpacking through each country to serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities. We will strive to share God’s loving word by building churches, working with orphanages, aiding the women and children victims of prostitution and human-trafficking, and bringing hope and restoration of God’s love to many tribes and nations.
I must admit that I am nervous about what is in store for me, but I am more excited about what God can do in the lives of those in need. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity that God has given me and I have full faith that he will provide for my every need. I hope that you see the value in what God will accomplish through me and my journey. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires tremendous emotional and financial support. I am writing you to ask for your support with hopes of you partnering with me in my ministry.
I need to raise $16,285 in order to participate in the World Race. This covers all of my expenses in the field. Other expenses not included in in the $16,285 include equipment (backpacking tent and pack, proper clothing), airfare (to and from training location and to and from race launch location), and immunizations. I am faced with the challenge of single-handedly raising a substantial amount of money in a very little amount of time. If you can financially support me, I would be beyond grateful! Financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation. For monthly donations, you can choose the amount and the duration. My departure date is only four months away and I am nowhere close to the amount that I need, so I greatly need your help.
I understand that the people and places I am going to see are not the only ones in the world who need help. Life is hard and times are tough here in the U.S. as well. I understand that not everyone is able to offer me financial support. This is why I have faith that with your emotional support and prayers, God will help me find a way to make this happen. The most important thing I can ask of you is for your support in prayer. Prayer is the fuel that will allow my team to be successful as we are led by God’s ministry throughout the World Race. Without prayer nothing will happen.
I pray not only to be a blessing to those I serve on my journey, but to you as well. I would be honored to not only be a messenger of God’s love and support, but to also share your love and support with all those I will encounter in my travels.
I want to thank you for your support. There are several ways to help and I appreciate it all. This won’t be possible for me unless you share my story with friends and neighbors and continue to pray that the financial sponsorship that I desperately need is achieved. Please also pray for the support needed for each of the individuals who will soon become my team and family.
Blessings,
Danielle Marie Wieber
